Scot Friedman, a native of Austin, Texas, began acting at an early age, performing in productions at the Old Gaslight, Zilker Hillside, and Zachary Scott Theaters in Austin. After an extended hiatus, Scot returned to his true creative passion, in an attempt to quiet the voices in his head. Scot has been featured in independent films, webisodes, radio and TV commercials, and animation voice-over projects, as well as numerous UT-Austin student productions. Scot is also a voice for the Texas Adopt-A-Beach Program. Scot has a comedic sensibility, a natural and believable style of acting, and is proficient at many different dialects and accents. And, of course, his humility knows no bounds. He received his formal education in geography/earth sciences from the University of Texas at Austin, is an avid cyclist, and is a long-time practitioner of the martial arts of Kajukenbo and Lua.
In BRILLIANT, Scot plays 'Mr. Toomy,' the restaurant boss of the lead character, Jared. Although Mr. Toomy outwardly seems stern and intrusive, his gruff exterior conceals a deep concern and caring for Jared, who he views as a son. |
