Russell L. Minton began his acting career by accident when an actor dropped out of a university production and he was asked to step in at the last moment. From there he continued to land leading roles for all the major universtiy productions including The Miser, Frankenstein, Antigone and Deathtrap. He dabbled in community theatre after graduating and did not really pick back up on his acting until the summer of 2008 when a friend suggested he start auditioning in the Austin area. Well, that was 16 films ago, three of which are feature length. He has worked with a wide range of production companies to include members of the University of Texas RTF graduate program as well as with a number of local independent studios. His roles have ranged from a pedophile, a graveyard grounds keeper with a strange hobby to police officers, a singing prison executioner and a Russian diplomat just to name a few. "I look forward to playing the role of 'Ned Cross' in Brilliant. I think I have a part of my own past that relates to Ned's life situation and internal needs. In other words, I know how it feels to be a loser, scraping for a chance to belong." Russell has been an avid photographer for over 30 years and enjoys providing set stills from every project he works on.
