Gin Blanton engulfed herself in the arms of arts at a very young age. At the tender age of 7, she began singing in the church choir. Her love for music eventually led her to her first instrument, the clarinet, in the 5th grade; quickly followed by the flute, xylophone, and snare drum. After hearing her sing at the Christmas musical, Gin’s 7th grade drama teacher summoned her to sing a solo in the spring play. It was at that moment that her love and passion for acting came to life. The following year she played the lead role of Dorothy, in The Wizard of Oz, and she was later rendered lead roles such as Beatrice in Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, and Desdemona in Othello. While in college, Ms. Blanton took a break from performing to concentrate on her studies; however she stayed connected to entertainment as a cheerleader for a semi-pro football league in the Dallas metropolitan area. Having recently returned to acting, she has appeared in the stage play Anyways, as the lead character Kim, and as Evelyn in the indie movie Prepare For Exit. As the co-owner of Svelte Books and Svelte Entertainment Group, Gin Blanton plans to conquer the world of entertainment with hard work, dedication, and her love and talent for the art of acting.
